Chocolate any day and all day is my motto! 🙂

Hello, my lovely baking friends! Today, we are talking about allergy-friendly and vegan CHOCOLATE FROSTING! Aren’t you just tired of either you or your kiddo feeling left out when it comes to indulging in those frosted sweet treats because of your allergies? Sure, there are a few store bought brands that may be safe for your specific allergies, but have you ever read the ingredients on those canned, shelf-stable frostings? Yikes!

Don’t get me wrong, ready-made anything from the store can be a lifesaver and there is no shame in using them. But, sometimes you just want something more “real,” healthy, and homemade, amiright? Don’t worry, I’ve got you covered! Today, I’m sharing my recipe for an allergy-friendly and vegan chocolate frosting that will make all your dessert dreams come true.

This chocolate frosting is made with just 5 pretty basic ingredients and without any dairy, eggs, or nuts (except coconut milk, which can be substituted), making it a perfect option for those with allergies to these common ingredients. It’s also gluten-free, which is great for me and those with celiac disease or gluten intolerance. And, it’s vegan too!

And, hello?! No beater required! From my experience making this, I can assure you this luscious frosting can be whipped up with just a rubber saptula or even spoon!

Homemade Can Be So Rewarding!

As many food allergy families know (read a little more about our story), making things from scratch can be a fun adventure! Sometimes simply grabbing an easy-pre-made item from the store isn’t possible depending on your allergies due to known allergens being included or cross contamination being a concern. Just the research process in finding those 1-2 brands of a particular item that would be safe can be so time consuming and overwhelming!

There’s been many times we’ve just decided to make whatever that item was ourselves from scratch, using safe ingredients we trust, to add a level of security and be more able to just relax and enjoy. Instead of grabbing ready-made items from the store, we get to be creative and experiment in the kitchen, making safe and delicious meals and treats that cater to our specific needs.

Despite the extra time and effort, for food allergy families, it’s a chance to take control of their food choices, and the end result is always worth it. Many times homemade is even the healthiest option for the whole family! So, embrace the adventure, and enjoy the delicious rewards of cooking and baking from scratch!

But, back to the chocolate part!

Just the mention of chocolate frosting can make our mouths water, and for good reason. This sweet, rich, and indulgent topping has been a staple on cakes, cupcakes, and various other sweet treats for as long as we can remember. But what makes it so irresistible, and why is it so popular?

Firstly, chocolate is one of the most beloved flavors in the world. It’s sweet, but not too sweet, and it has a rich, velvety texture that melts in your mouth. When paired with frosting, it creates the perfect balance of sweet and decadent.

Chocolate frosting’s versatility allows it to be paired with many different cake flavors, from vanilla to red velvet to carrot cake, and it always complements them perfectly. It’s also great for various occasions, from birthdays to weddings to holidays.

Chocolate frosting is also a classic flavor that’s stood the test of time. It’s been around for generations, and it’s still just as popular today as it was years ago. It’s a timeless flavor that never goes out of style and always brings a smile to our faces. Some of us are also seriously addicted to chocolate, but more on that another day! 😉

So Many Possibilities!

This allergy-friendly and vegan chocolate frosting is easy to make and customize. You can make it as simple or as fancy as you want, depending on the occasion by adding sprinkles, crushed cookies, or even drizzle melted chocolate on top. The possibilities are endless!

For those of you crazy people not so much into the chocolate thing (gasp!), you might like to try our Cream Cheese Frosting (contains dairy)!

Happy baking and indulging!
