Thanksgiving Recipe Book Templates

Last updated: January 17, 2023

a great class project for thanksgiving to learn about cooking and holiday traditions!

Students can create their own Thanksgiving recipe books! Great gifts for student families!

Making a Thanksgiving Recipe Book in your homeschool or traditional classroom has never been more fun! These cookbook templates are quick and easy to use and make a BIG impact!

My daughter made a Christmas themed recipe book just like these ones one year that we then copied and shipped to various friends and family and they were a huge hit!

The holidays are such a great time to talk about family and cultural traditions. My kids love our tried-and-true family traditions, as well as, creating new ones. They are so curious when we talk about the family traditions of other friends and family and other cultures. It’s fun to learn about the values of others and what makes their holidays feel like “home” in this way.

Holiday Fun While Learning

These Thanksgiving recipe book templates allow for so much fun conversation all while:

  • practicing handwriting skills
  • learning about recipe structure
  • discussing how to follow a recipe
  • exploring various holiday traditions and food

Students can create or choose recipes to include in the recipe books and bring home a very personalized and special gift. Or, students can each contribute a personal or family favorite recipe to collectively create a class recipe book to be remembered for years to come.

This project includes:

  • 4 full-color covers to choose from that include space to record chef/student name and date
  • 2 black and white and printer-friendly cover options also allow student to color, draw, or glue their own photos
  • 1 prewritten letter pages or 1 blank letter page from the student to include in the booklet
  • Multiple recipe card choices to mix-and-match
  • 4 unique back cover options
This template comes with FOUR gorgeous color cover options! (Printer friendly black and white also included.)

Fun “Extras”

Some ideas on how we made these recipe books even better:

  • Laminate: Taking a little extra time to laminate each page of the recipe books makes them durable enough to withstand rips or spills while cooking — families want to be able to treasure these for years to come!
  • Fun addition: When we made these in our homeschool classroom for holiday gifts for friends and family, we also included a homemade/kidmade potholder with each recipe book. We used this kit to make lots of fun different color combinations resulting in one-of-a-kind potholders for each recipe book recipient.
  • Binding: Think about the binding you may want to use when constructing these cookbooks. We did a simple hole punch up near the top-left corner and used o-rings to keep them all together, but also so easy to flip through in the kitchen.

No prep, ready to print and go!

These recipe book covers and templates are no prep, ready to go! Gorgeous color options are included, along with printer-friendly black-and-white options!

I would love to hear what other ideas you come up with in using this product!
