We recently refreshed our own guest room with new bedding and quickly discovered a domino effect in interior design. You know, you swap out a comforter for a newer, shiner, or trendier piece and suddenly you notice, “Well, now I’m noticing the bed looks a little older and worn next to that comforter, and that art just doesn’t match anymore, and we should really consider a fresh coat of paint!”

Yeah, we went down that rabbit hole and what started as a new comforter, ended up with us updating about 60% of everything in the guest room. Oh, and we decided to return the comforter in the end for something all-together different! 😆

Revamping the art in our guest room turned out to be one of the more difficult items to find. For whatever art we found, the mood, colors, subject matter, size, and cost all had to perfectly align. Not an easy find AND we didn’t really want to break the bank on the art as we tend to update our rooms every few years when creativity strikes!

After looking and looking, I was able to define the mood and colors and size we wanted. I would find something I loved, but the colors were wrong. Or the mood was right, but the subject matter was not working. I finally decided to just create my own! The cost was the same or less to print the art and I could personalize every aspect of it!
